URBAN ARCHITECTURE

Manhattan, New York – Urban Architecture – bCLPhoto.

Cities are built to be inhabited, not necessarily to be looked at. Urban architecture photography does exactly that — it slows down and looks.

Barcelona offers an almost unfair amount of material: the geometry of the Eixample, the organic forms of Gaudí, the brutalist blocks of the periphery, the steel and glass of the new waterfront. But the same logic applies in London, Berlin or Istanbul — every city has a visual grammar, and the camera is the best tool to learn to read it.

This gallery is a collection of that reading — lines, light, shadow and the occasional human figure that reminds you the buildings are not empty.
