STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

Street photography in New York – bCLPhoto

Street photography is the art of capturing unposed, candid moments in public spaces — the visual hunt for the extraordinary hidden inside the ordinary.

These are the images I collect walking the streets of Barcelona and other cities I have visited: a reflected face in a shop window, two strangers caught in the same frame by accident, the geometry of a shadow at noon. Occasionally, cities like New York, London or Istanbul add their own light to the collection.

I shoot candid, I shoot fast, and I rarely ask permission. That is the only way to catch what is real.

Half of these photographs took less than a second to make — and years of walking to be ready for. That is the deal street photography offers: you cannot plan the moment, you can only be there when it happens. The city writes the script; the camera just has to keep up.
